Celonis awarded the “Rocket Mittelstand Award 2020”

The annual start-up event “Hinterland of Things” sees Celonis founders as role models for the deep tech scene

Bielefeld/Munich – February 14, 2019 — Celonis continues on its successful course: The annual start-up conference “Hinterland of Things”, organized by the Founders Foundation, awarded Celonis founders Alexander Rinke, Bastian Nominacher and Martin Klenk the “Rocket Mittelstand Award 2020” at the event of the same name yesterday evening.

With the prize, “Hinterland of Things” awards extraordinary founder personalities who are role models for “MiniCorns” and “SooniCorns”, meaning startups companies that have the potential to become unicorns themselves.. A jury chose the nominees, but in the end, the community chose the winner of the award in an online vote on the official “Hinterland of Things” website. The result of the vote shows that Celonis' success story — from start-up to global market leader in AI-enhanced Process Mining and Process Excellence software — convinces expert juries and also inspires the founder scene.

"The award is a great honor for us. We are happy to see that the deep tech scene is so enthusiastic about our vision of a 'Frictionless Future'" said Martin Klenk, co-founder and CTO at Celonis, who accepted the award on behalf of all three founders.

"Frictionless Future" describes the idea of shaping people's lives and work without friction losses and waiting times — a scenario in which Process Mining is essential. To get closer to this goal, Celonis has initiated various measures such as the free Process Mining software “Celonis Snap”, and further education opportunities, which contribute to democratizing access to Process Mining.

The "Rocket Mittelstand Award" has been awarded annually since 2018 at the "Hinterland of Things" conference in Bielefeld. It’s a German start-up hotspot where founders, investors, and companies meet for exchange and networking.

Celonis was also involved in the event program. Martin Klenk spoke on a panel about "Deep Tech Start-Ups from Germany" and shared his experiences from Celonis' success story with the community. "Even though we have grown enormously in the past years, we want to keep in touch with the start-up scene. This is where our roots lie, and if I can help other founders with our experience here, that's great", said Klenk.
