Imagine having a trusted digital assistant by your side, ready to help you find the value opportunities in your business processes and drive the actions to capture them, fast. Celonis Process Copilots, GenAI chatbots provide seamless access to process insights, do just that.
"Celonis Process Copilots were designed with one goal, to make your interaction with Celonis as seamless and intuitive as chatting with a colleague," said Mohamed Karous, Director of Product Marketing. "We’ve created an interface where analysts and business users can directly converse with Celonis, asking questions, seeking insights and uncovering opportunities for process improvements."
Process Copilots were first Celonis announced at Celosphere 2023 in beta, and as of May 13, 2025, are generally available to Celonis customers and partners. Celonis Process Copilots can be used in collaboration tools like Slack and Microsoft Teams. Now Celonis’ customers’ employees can talk to their processes right from their regular workspaces and get answers fast about what’s working and what blockers need their attention.
Process Copilots simplify and accelerate the process of identifying value opportunities across the business and take action to capture them. They are your companion along your path to process excellence. Customers can start their value journey by asking questions to first understand their process, then understand various ways to improve performance, and take action, such as sending follow up emails or flagging a common process variation with another team.
Process Copilots are an evolution of the company’s LLM for PQL Generation tool and a cornerstone of the company’s goal to help companies maximize the ROI of their artificial intelligence (AI) deployments feeding it the process data and business context it needs to understand how the business runs and how to make it run better.
For example, Smurfit Westrock built a Copilot that helps them optimize inventory management. When employees at a production facility are looking for a part, the easiest thing to do is call the supplier and order it. But if another plant has the part and can just transfer it over, that’s even better. However, that might require looking at a bunch of dashboards or reaching out to plants that speak other languages and might even be on other ERP instances where the needed part is categorized under a slightly different name. Now, plant technicians can just ask their Process Copilot and get answers fast. Smurfit Westrock is rolling the Copilot out globally to cut excess stock, reduce downtime, and keep production moving - without overpaying for parts they already have.
Celonis Process Copilot recommend questions
Process Copilot's key features:
Natural language understanding: Process Copilots’ natural language processing (NLP) interface infers what users mean even if their queries aren’t perfect, such as asking for a slice of data without specifying which filter to use.
Recommended Questions: Upon entry, Process Copilots present users with three starting insights about their top-line metrics. These are generated based on KPI monitoring and corresponding recommended opportunities. Recommendations may include keywords, follow-up questions, opportunities/insights, filters to apply, etc.
Integrated platform filters: Process Copilots can read and write filters applied to the Process Explorer. To write, filters are returned as a recommendation “chip.” Users can tap on this recommendation chip to apply the filter.
Actions: Using Process Copilots, users can download the CSV file for displayed tables, download a PNG file of a displayed chart or even generate an email with your findings to share with colleagues.
